Giving Thanks

This is a long overdue post and should have ideally been my first post…but never late than ever, eh? So everybody who knows me (or at least everyone who knows me well), are aware of my love for books. I’ve always derived great joy in losing myself to the pull and magic of words. My sister has over the years been telling me to start a blog to extend my love for writing, but I was never inclined to do so. I was never much of a blog reader and just did not feel inclined. But this changed in 2012 when I came across a weekly pregnancy update by Julie in her blog: http://www.girlintheredshoes.com/. I was very intrigued by the way she had presented the post and the lovely chalkboard picture of her pregnancy status. I went through few of her articles and was immediately hooked. I had nothing in common with her, but words have a way of reaching out to you. The emotions she expresses through her articles, on love, family and joy - are universal. Ever since I regularly read her articles. [Except her breastfeeding diaries, those just make me squeamish :-D]

Few year later, a dear friend from WCC started an Indian beauty and fashion blog, http://www.candycrow.com/. This time around I began reading her articles only because I knew her personally. But I soon realized how rare it to read about beauty without a shred of vanity and that is what keeps me coming back to her blog. That and of course her clear presentation on a wide range of articles including beauty tips, nail art tutorials, yummy recipes and more.
It did take me year to finally start this blog, but I’m finally here :-) So my inspiration to immortalize my words in the vast, vast World Wide Web is because of these two amazing blogs by two wonderful women. Thank you very much Julie and Subha. Your words never fail to make me smile.
